November's Blog
Amy Stovold
November was an extremely sad month for Amy, the super horse, Lenski, who kick started Amy's dressage career, died aged 18. The horse world paid tribute to this extremely talented horse
Spencer Sturmey
Spencer's November is proving to be much warmer than ours in the UK. He is currently on a mini tour of Australia, lucky chap!
First up for Spencer on his mini tour is commentating for FEI TV at the Adelaide 4 Star event, then to Melbourne and finally New South Wales to compete at the Wallaby Hills International.
The horse Spencer is riding at Wallaby Hills is called Playing The Field, a 7yo bay a horse which Spencer has never sat, the first time he will be riding him will be at the actual event- quite mad I think! Playing The Field is being worked and getting fit by a former pupil of his, Charlotte Littlefield, who was an individual Young Rider for GB at the Europeans in Poland a few years ago.
It appears that Spencer's time in Australia is not all work related, he has spent time at the beach in Glenelg enjoying the glorious Australian weather, we are of course not envious and enjoying the renowned Australian hospitality in some fantastic restaurants. He has also been enjoying watching the Australian X Factor Final, I do hope it's better than ours!
Good Luck Spencer at the Wallaby Hills International from all at Equetech.
Adam Trew
Adam celebrated his 30th Birthday earlier this month, celebrating in style with a fancy dress party. Turning 30 really needs to be marked in style, which judging by all the photos certainly was!
He like Spencer is having a great time in Australia, these eventers and Australia! Adam is actually on holiday though, and is enjoying the famous Australian hospitality, fabulous food, drink, scenery and weather. What a great holiday to recharge the batteries before all the work resumes in the New Year in getting the horses competition fit. Happy Holiday Adam!
Natalie Povey
After a very busy October for both Elton and Natalie with Elton having his routine dental check, his first clip whilst in the ownership of Natalie and a saddle check, they also both enjoyed their first two outings as a new partnership. Their first outing was a successful competition outing achieving scores of 62.59% and 64.80% and the second trip out was to a development training day which was held by Nicola Tustain MBE at Clwyd Special Riding Centre. Natalie says that these outings were all about preparing this special horse for the future as Natalie and team have high hopes for him. November was a much quieter month for Natalie and Elton, unfortunately a poorly Elton required a vet visit as he would not eat and was uncharacteristically quiet. Thankfully, the next day he had perked up managing to eat his breakfast and some hay.
