Keeping Warm Whilst Competing This Winter
With more and more venues running competitions throughout the year, winter competing obviously brings about a different set of problems to those experienced during the summer months, most notable is how to stay warm. Thankfully, today's technology has created some amazing insulating fabrics with excellent thermal properties.
The style, design and cut of competition clothing coupled with the rules of the competition venue or affiliate regarding competition attire, limits your ability to add layers for warmth. So, what to wear without the expense of two competition wardrobes; one for winter and one for summer without looking 2 clothes sizes bigger in the winter?
Invest in good quality thermal underwear. Equetech's Arctic Thermal Underbreeches are leg warming and totally divine. Featuring a plush cosy micro fleece lining throughout the garment with a soft seam free seat, non- chaff leg trim, wide comfort waistband and stirrup foot, these unisex underbreeches come in both black and beige. The unisex Thermal Stirrup Under breeches, just like the Arctic, feature seam free legs and non-chaff seams but for those that suffer with chilblains to the thighs, these white under breeches feature added protection in the form of fleece micro panels to the thighs. Both the beige Arctic under breeches and the white stirrup underbreeches not only create a super warm under layer but are perfect for creating a more opaque finish to often see through white breeches.
If you don't like the idea of an added base layer to your lower body, Equetech's Foxhunter Hybrid Breeches are for you. These essential beige breeches for hunting and competing are hard wearing with exceptional support from the multi- directional stretch for comfort and shape retention. In both men's and ladies they also feature a luxurious, cosy, soft fleece lining, perfect for cold weather competitions and out on the hunting field. Also in the luxurious Foxhunter range is the Equetech Foxhunter Shirt. Just like the Foxhunter Breeches, this too is available in men's and ladies and is also in junior sizes. A traditional style, long sleeve, rich cotton stock shirt in either white or buttermilk.
If winter competing over previous years has been avoided due to your dislike of the cold, there're now several winter wardrobe reasons to get out there and have some winter competition fun!
